performed for over 25 years locally and internationally.
During this time Marianne toured France, Switzerland and Jamaica, performing at schools, theatres and festivals. She taught workshops at the Studios Paris Centre and Centre Culturel Git le Coeur in Paris, also in Avignon, France, in Chiasso and Bern, Switzerland and at Titchfield High School in Jamaica, West Indies. Marianne has taught dance at Radcliffe College, Boston University, Dean College School of Dance, Boston Conservatory, Wellesley College, the Commonwealth School, Cambridge School of Weston, Ballet Arts Center of Winchester, Hyde Park, Brighton, and Dorchester High Schools, the International Academy of Ethnic Dance, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, the Institute for Contemporary Dance, Shady Hill School, Cambridge Friends School, the King, Fitzgerald and Webster Community Schools in Cambridge, the McCormack, Dever, Ohrenberger and Mather Schools in Dorchester and dance studios in the greater Boston area, and has guest taught and performed in Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, and Portland, Oregon. Marianne's television performances include Channel 2's “Say Brother”, Channel 7's “Revista”, and the opening collage for “Live on 4”. She also appeared on Channel 36 in Providence, R.I. And on JBC TV in Jamaica. She performed in the plays ”Tongues of Fire” directed by Brenda Wolcott at MIT and “The Dancers” directed by Marla Blakey at Boston Center for the Arts. Marianne was a 1996 recipient of the Dance Belt Award from the City of Cambridge, and a former member of the Board of Trustees for the Boston Dance Alliance. She currently teaches at Boston Conservatory, Wellesley College, Shady Hill School, Ballet Arts Centre of Winchester, and the Dance Complex in Cambridge and is a regular guest teacher at Boston Arts Academy. Marianne is Assistant Director of, Benkadi Drum & Dance, a Cambridge-based African dance company. Marianne has been on faculty at BAC since 1993. |
