Julie Fajardo trained in Boston with E. Virginia Williams,
Lynn Winslow, and Tatiana Baboushkina as well as at American Ballet Theatre with
Patricia Wilde and Leon Danielian and the Joffrey Ballet with Meredith Baylis. As a scholarship student at Jacob’s Pillow
Dance Festival, she also studied with Margaret Craske, Norman Walker, and Ted
Shawn. She danced with the Boston Ballet
and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and has performed many leading roles such as
Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and the Sugar Plum Fairy. She was Artistic Director for the Berkshire
Foothills Ballet for 15 years and has taught for Boston Ballet, Jacqueline
Cronsberg’s Ballet Workshop of New England, the Walnut Hill High School of
Performing Arts, and Jacob’s Pillow where she was also Assistant Director of
Education. In 2002 she became Director
of Dance for the Performing Arts School of Worcester and in 2004 became
Principal for the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre’s Young Dancer’s Program in Harvard
Square. BAC is happy to have Ms. Fajardo
come aboard our ballet faculty in 2014.
